April 7 & 8, 2007, Woking

The Woking Canal Festival organised by the Surrey and Hampshire Canal Society and Bridge Barn Beefeater pub will welcome a wide variety of boats. The event is taking place on the Basingstoke Canal at the Bridge Barn Pub, Horsell on Saturday 7 (12 noon to 5pm) and Sunday 8 April ( 11am to 5pm).

Visitors will be able to enjoy live entertainment, public boat trips, face painting, craft stalls, games, refreshments and lots more. They will also have the opportunity to find out more about the waterway and the effort that needs to be made to ensure that it remains navigable.

Peter Coxhead, of the Surrey and Hampshire Canal Society said "This will be our 12th year at the Bridge Barn and this year's event will be better than ever before. Visitors can look forward to a full weekend of family entertainment' including an illuminated boat cavalcade which will depart from Woking Town Quay (by Brewery Road Car Park) at about 8.30 pm, arriving at the Bridge Barn at approximately 9pm."

Entry to the site and car parking is free.
