Feb 8, 2009 - Burras have finished their contract work and we are now waiting for them to get their equipment, now on the track off the site. On the right hand side is the ramp less railings and wall less copings. Both these features will go on later.
The scaffolding started to be put up 8 Feb. The 9 Feb saw lots of rain that flooded the site holding up that preparatory work. In the bottom left hand corner is the first pack of bricks for the bricklaying which will start as soon as conditions permit.

It is expected that Burras will be finished and off site by Feb. 6. The volunteers will then continue to complete the walls.

Jan 22, 2009 - The channel between the end of the towpath ramp and the tail of the lock has now been dug out. On the right the blinding to form the base of the retaining wall has been cast. On the left the lower part of the wall has been faced with concrete blocks up to water level. Hollow blocks are being placed on the top of the cast concrete wall to prevent the embankment washing into the canal. These are secured by vertical reinforcing rods cast into the top of the concrete.
