In the autumn of 1993 the first of a series of detailed maps of the canal was published in Wey-South (No. 84). These were by Colin Gibbs who wrote in Wey-South 90 (Spring 1995) -
|
"Over the past two years I have compiled a series of sketch maps, dissecting the canal and indicating what work has taken place.
I will continue to update these, but thanks to Angus Mackintosh these sketch maps have been brought together giving an overall picture of restoration progress.
Some sections of the canal have been dredged, some are always in water, some are dry except after heavy rainfall, while others include rebuilt locks and bridges.
It must be noted that, with the exception of Drungewick Lane and the B2133 crossing in Loxwood, no work has been undertaken on the road crossings".
Hazel Lintott has assisted with the maps since 1998. The complete length of the canal is covered in ten maps.

Please note that sections of the canal towpath are on private land with no public right of way. For access to work sites and for rights of way along the canal, please see the Wey-South Path.
