A NEW LAND ROVER FOR
THE WEY & ARUN CANAL TRUST

The Wey & Arun Canal Trust has been handed the keys to its third Land Rover Defender as part of
Harwoods Land Rover's continued support for the Wey & Arun canal restoration work.
Glyn Woodage, Chief Executive Officer of the Harwoods Group, commented: "Land Rover Defenders
are the ultimate off-road vehicles. Loxwood is just one of the many rural areas where this work is being carried
out. The Defender lends itself to the off-road environment perfectly with its carrying and towing facilities as
well as essential traction over loose ground, mud, ice and snow. The Wey & Arun Canal Trust is a perfect
sponsorship choice for Harwoods, as the scheme is reliant on vehicles which are safe, powerful, dependable and
able to support the worker and equipment to carry out successful and effective restoration work. We are
delighted to be continuing our involvement."
Chairman of the Trust, Peter Foulger, said: "We are constantly pulling trailers around with
equipment and Defenders are ideal for fulfilling the tasks we need to restore the canal. Being a voluntary
organisation we are extremely grateful for the constant generosity and support from Harwoods Land Rover."
The next major project will be the B2133 crossing in Loxwood and the completion of the swing
bridge at Haybarn, near Wisborough Green.
