The Wey & Arun Canal Trust's annual sponsored walk, better known as "The Poddle", will be held on Sunday, June 10, 2007. This will start from the centre of Cranleigh, Surrey, to follow a carefully waymarked 13 mile circular route, with lunch provided for all entrants at Dunsfold. Among other points of interest the walkers will pass beside more than half a mile of the canal where preliminary clearance work was undertaken last year - some of the walking on this section is on private land by courtesy of Dunsfold Park Ltd.
The walk is open to anybody who wants to help raise money towards the restoration of the Wey & Arun Canal - also known as 'London's Lost Route to the Sea'. For entry forms please contact the Trust's office on 01403 752403 or email:
