The Wey & Arun Canal Trust is delighted to report the results of its prestigious Photographic Competition 2008. Entries were invited from amateur and professional photographers and for the first time this year we received entries from photographic clubs. The results were announced at the Trust's Autumn Meeting on Saturday, 25th October.
There was a record entry and the invited judges were Malcolm Roberts of Castle Studios, Guildford, professional photographer Alison Snell and the Trust's Vice-President and Archivist, John Wood MBE. Inevitably, given the wide ranging styles of the entries, the judges' choices varied but it proved possible to reach agreement and the winner was "Early Morning Brewhurst" by Derek Grieve which captured early morning light on the canal.

Second prize went to Martin Roffey with "Lock Gates" and third to Derek Heath for his "Brewhurst Lock" photo.
The Trust are grateful to the three judges and particularly to Janet Phillips the organiser of the competition.
