Canal Guided Walks
Tuesday 17th April 2012.
An easy and delightful 4 mile walk beginning at the Limeburners Pub (RH14 9JA) and visiting Guildenhurst Bridge and then walking along the towpath to visit Lordings Lock and the aqueduct before returning. Note: If the weather has been wet, waterproof boots will be a necessity.
Meet at 10am in the pub car park at the Limeburners. Please check parking permission if you intend to use the pub carpark.
Thursday 17th May 2012.
A 4 mile circular walk beginning at the Bat and Ball Pub (RH14 0EH ) visiting a section of canal to see Loves Bridge, Rowner Lock, Northlands Lifting Bridge and NewBridge. Please note: There are many stiles on this walk and a short section will be on fast road.
Meet at 10am in the car park of the Bat and Ball. Please check parking permission if you intend to use the pub carpark.
Wednesday 20th June 2012.
A 3.5 mile circular walk from the Sir Roger Tichborne to along to Devils hole Lock via Loxwood village and up to the site of Southlands and on before cutting back via the Sussex Border Path at Gennets to the pub. Please note: The towpath can become very muddy around the construction work during periods of bad weather.
Meet at 10am in the car park at the Sir Roger Tichborne. Please check parking permission if you intend to use the pub carpark.
Walks are usually guided by Bridget Glynne-Jones, who is an experienced and knowledgeable walker and former WACT office manager.
