The Wey & Arun Canal Trust runs three trip boats. Now into its second season for 2010 is our electrically powered boat Wiggonholt! This brand new boat is wider than a conventional narrowboat and can accommodate up to 50 passengers. It has an access lift for passengers with mobility difficulties. (Please note that mobility impaired passengers should make themselves known to the boat crew or ticket office at least 20 minutes before the scheduled departure time.)

The boats cruise along the idyllic Loxwood Link section of the canal on the Surrey/West Sussex border.

Public trips take place every Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holiday Mondays.

CRUISES for 2010

Public trips in 2010 begin on Saturday, April 10, 2010 and run until the end of October.

Unless indicated otherwise, all boat trips depart from the jetty to the rear of the Onslow Arms in Loxwood, RH14 0RD. (Map). A large car and coach park for canal visitors is available beyond the Onslow Arms car park.

We also have a self-drive dayboat the "Pete Wynn" available for hire to WACT members which is suitable for 4 people maximum. This boat is powered by an electric outboard and allows the canal to be explored with minimal disturbance to the wildlife.

All skippers and crew are members of the Wey & Arun Canal Trust and are volunteers. Our boats have to undergo regular safety inspection by the MCA (Maritime and Coastguard Agency - an executive agency of the Department for Transport). Skippers are in possession of a current Boatmaster's Licence issued by the MCA - so you are in safe hands!
